Some notable accomplishments of Messiah Lifeways are as follows:Messiah Lifeways Coaching provided a free coach helpline to individuals in the greater community 135 times and met for complimentary discovery coaching visits 63 times. More than 89 individuals attended coaching workshops this year. The coach also spoke to more than 602 individuals through presentations at churches and local civic organizations. This year the "Coach's Corner Changing The Conversation About Aging" podcast was launched to educate the public on various aging topics. In addition, Retirement Options Coaching was offered for the first time. This fee-for-service offering provides an assessment and coaching surrounding retirement readiness.Messiah Lifeways, through its subsidiary Messiah Lifeways Community Support Services, provides a number of important services to the Capital Region including: Messiah Lifeways Adult Day with locations in Mechanicsburg and Carlisle, Messiah Lifeways At Home, Mechanicsburg Place: A Senior Center and more, Branch Creek Place: A Senior Center and more, and Messiah Lifeways Connections.This year Messiah Lifeways Community Support Services saw growth in its two senior centers in Cumberland County - Mechanicsburg Place and Branch Creek Place (in Shippensburg). In total, more than 750 older adults were served through these two senior centers. Both Branch Creek Place and Mechanicsburg Place are programs of Messiah Lifeways and are supported, in part, by a grant from the Cumberland County Office of Aging and Community Services, the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, and the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration on Aging. Messiah Lifeways, through its subsidiary Messiah Home d/b/a Messiah Lifeways at Messiah Village ("Messiah Village") continued construction on phase 1 of "Project Envision: a 20-year plan for a mission-driven Messiah Village." The project aims to increase Residential Living and Enhanced Living options, offer smaller nursing neighborhoods with private rooms, and add numerous lifestyle amenities. The centerpiece of phase 1 is Village Square, which features a blend of lively common spaces that promote vitality and 84 private apartments with underground parking. It will include the Center for Vitality & Wellness, Cerise Day Spa, Hostetter Enrichment Center, Caf 100 and Kathryn's on the Square, an upscale casual restaurant. Village Square will not only be the hub of enrichment activity for residents, but it will house the Pathways Institute for Lifelong Learning and Messiah Lifeways Wellness, which hundreds of community members from across our region enjoy on a weekly basis. The first phase of Project Envision will also include the addition of 26 new large apartments in Enhanced Living, known as Hopewell, and a new addition onto nursing that will include two nursing neighborhoods, named Greenwood and Engle, which serve 16 residents each. With this addition, Messiah Lifeways will be able to offer 66 private accommodations throughout its nursing neighborhoods. Greenwood and Engle residents will move into their newly finished spaces in August 2017.Again, Messiah Village was recognized by Harrisburg Magazine as "Simply the Best" long-term care facility in the region.
