In FY17, this program reached 6,400 individuals in 330 events at 46 venues. After training, teachers (86%) reported a better understanding of the mandated reporter responsibilities. Parents (100%) reported a better understanding of how to talk to their child about personal safety and how to handle disclosure. 208732 Family Support Line provides treatment for children who have experienced child sexual abuse through the Community Group Program and Therapy Network Program. Community Group provides a safe space for girls age 7 to 18 years to share and learn. Parents and siblings also participate in supportive group services on the same night. In FY17, through its Community Group Program, FSL offered 31 group therapy sessions for children and non-offending parents. Thirteen clients relied on us for transportation. Surveys indicated that 76% of children and 77% of parents reported feeling more hope for the future. The majority of children reported improved relationships (62%). Most parents (82%) reported increased ability to cope. FSL revised the individual and family therapy services to best meet the needs of the families served through the Delaware County Children's Advocacy Center. With the addition of a Therapist/Educator and Program Associate we served 71 children and parents in FY 17. Just over 700 hours of specialized trauma treatment was provided at no cost. 21075 2800 Together with Widener University's Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology and Center for Social Work, Family Support Line provided professional training: The Child Sexual Abuse Treatment Certificate Program; Treating Child Sexual Abuse: Opening Pandora's Box Conference. These workshops along with trainings provided by the Delaware County Children's Advocacy Center, Family Support Line trained 262 professionals. 363987 4180 The Delaware County CAC (DCCAC) follows the National Children's Alliance's nationally recognized model for intersystem response to child abuse which is endorsed by the American Bar Association. The CAC embraces the Ten Standards required for National Children's Alliance's Accreditation (multidisciplinary team, mental health, cultural competency and diversity, case review, forensic interviews, case tracking, victim support and advocacy, organizational capacity, medical evaluation, child-focused setting). Seven core disciplines--law enforcement, mental health, child protective services, victim advocacy, prosecution, DCCAC staff, and medical - form a multidisciplinary team and lead the investigation with efficiency. Utilizing a joint investigative approach, where information can flow seamlessly among the professionals who need it, the DCCAC assists families, helping them understand the system, and refer them to needed resources and services.
