Depending on the severity of the conflict, employees are placed on probation or terminated. Directors/Supervisory committee members must acknowledge the "Board of Director's Ethics/conflict of interest policy" each year, typically in March. The policy strictly prohibits most conflicts (gifts, solicitations, legacies, information interlocks, commission, etc). Loans are the exception, in which case the entire board must approve them individually and they cannot be preferential.
