This assistance comes in the form of balancing their personal checking accounts and issuing checks to pay their bills. Envision Unlimited provides this assistance as a service to its clients. The assets involved are the clients' assets, but they are held in trust in an Envision Unlimited account and are reflected as an asset and a related liability on the consolidated statement of financial position. Part V, Line 4: To provide financial assistance for individual needs of Envision Unlimited clients. This designated fund exists to provide funding to assist in meeting emergency and other needs unattainable through normal resources or not allowable or funded through governmental entities. Part X, Line 2: Envision Unlimited is exempt from federal income taxes under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). The accounting standard on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes addresses the determination of whether tax benefits claimed on a tax return should be recorded in the financial statements. Under this guidance, Envision Unlimited may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position. Examples of tax positions include the tax-exempt status of Envision Unlimited and the various positions related to the potential sources of unrelated business taxable income (UBIT). The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position are measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50 percent likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. The guidance for accounting for uncertainty in income taxes also addresses derecognition, classification, interest and penalties on income taxes, and accounting in interim periods.
