Our pension integrity Project is designed to educate policymakers and taxpayers on the urgency of the national need for pension reform. Our work to stop the accumulation of unfunded pension liabilities, pay down debts, and protect taxpayers from undue risk had some signature successes this year. In michigan, gov. Rick snyder signed legislation that will cap the growth of liabilities in the state's structurally flawed teacher retirement plan. Through formal testimony and more than 100 legislator education meetings, we helped forge a compromise between gov. Snyder and the legislature, resulting in the creation of the most innovative pension reform package reason has developed to date. In south carolina, gov. Henry mcmaster signed legislation to improve the solvency of the state's two largest pension funds, the first stage of a multi-step pension review process designed and informed by reason's pension team. Arizona continues to be fertile ground for pension reform. In april, gov. Doug ducey signed into law a reform of the state's corrections officer retirement plan designed by reason's pension team. The legislation had strong bipartisan support as well as endorsement from key public safety unions. We're also working in california, michigan, nebraska, and connecticut.We are heavily involved in education reform efforts in arizona, Georgia, south carolina, and nevada.
