Because domestic violence (DV) is a subgroup of homelessness, the Hotline, which operates as a "coordinated entry point" because we do assessments and coordinate shelter for DV calls, expanded into doing trauma informed diversion for those not in imminent danger. The Greater Richmond Regional Hotline expanded to include the Housing Crisis Line in 2017 which serves as an access point for DV and non-DV homeless persons by providing diversion (and sometimes financial) support as a form of homelessness prevention.
