The hospital charges each patient for services rendered, however, it is recognized that not all individuals have the ability to pay for these services A determinationis made to identify those persons that qualify for hospital sponsoredcare The hospital follows the guidelines established by the State ofFlorida for qualifying hospital sponsored care When an individual isqualified for hospital sponsored care, the bill is written off in mostcases and partially written off in the remaining cases. When a patientdoes not have insurance, additional discounts are available. The rateof reimbursement for Medicare and Medicaid payments is below the costof providing such care thus, the hospital must recognize these amountsas necessary in meeting its mission. These clinicsare located conveniently throughout the county. In addition, theoffices participate in local health fairs, provide free physicals for various local student organizations and host educational seminars on avariety of healthcare related topics.- Provides care to those that are homebound or need continuingpost-hospital care services including skilled nursing, rehabilitationtherapy, social and nutritional.
