Three of the organization's eight directors are also directors of The Children's Mercy Hospital. In addition, two of the directors of The Children's Mercy Hospital serve as members of the organization's Investment Committee. With this representation, the supported organization has a significant voice in the organization's investment decisions and has the ability to influence decisions regarding the organization's use of its income and assets to support The Children's Mercy Hospital. Part V, Section D, Line 8 The Children's Mercy Hospital Foundation has only one supported organization, The Children's Mercy Hospital, which receives all of the organization's distributions. The organization also guarantees the supported organization's bond debt, to allow the Children's Mercy Hospital to qualify for a higher bond rating and to reduce its interest costs. Two of the supported organization's board members, the President/CEO and the Chairman of the Board, are ex officio members of the organization's Board and regularly attend meetings of the organization's Board, along with the supported organization's CFO. All administrative functions for the organization are performed by employees of The Children's Mercy Hospital under an administrative services agreement. The supported organization is attentive to the organization and its assets and activities. Part V, Section D, Supplemental Information Required The supported organization is The Children's Mercy Hospital (the Hospital). The President/CEO of the Hospital (who is also a member of the Hospital's Board) and the Chair of the Hospital Board are ex officio members of the organization's Board, with full voting rights. Decisions regarding the organization's financial support of the Hospital are made by the organization's Board of Directors. In addition, the President of the Hospital is a member of the Investment Committee of the organization's Board. The Hospital, as the sole supported organization, has a significant voice in, and influence over, financial support decisions of the organization. The responsiveness test is satisfied. The organization has only one supported organization, the Hospital. The organization provides millions of dollars per year in financial support to the Hospital. The organization guarantees the Hospital's bond debt, which reduces the Hospital's borrowing costs. This support provided by the organization to the Hospital is sufficient to ensure the Hospital's attentiveness to the organization and its assets and activities.
