In the fiscal year 2016-17, Mercy developed 3 Strategic Action Plans: 1) to gain Financial Stability moving toward sustainability, 2) to improve Operational Structure moving toward organizational excellence by increasing productivity while intentionally maintaining the quality that Mercy has been known to provide and 3) to Enhance Spiritual Growth moving toward training for providers and staff in the areas of empowerment with prayer and inner growth inclusive of being more support and assistance to patients and families. The following give a brief progress update: Mercy has experienced an increase in productivity in both adult and pediatrics, has gained a stability in behavioral health staffing and therefore have maximized and even expanded counseling services, maintaining a 15 day reserve without utilizing the Line of Credit for the last 6 months of the 2017 calendar year. Mercy has also expanded into Marshall County with part time services through the donation from a church for space and and continued growth of counseling into 4 more schools. There has been a 5% increase in clinic users and a 9% increase in overall patient visits with over 3500 referrals to specialists and other outreach services. Began a corporate-wide Lean Sig Sigma process to increase efficiencies and eliminate waste throughout the company. The facilitation of this process has been donated by a corporate sponsor, Tivity Health which has supported Mercy in a plethora of ways. The process was 75% completed in 2017 with the remainder to take place in the first quarter of 2018. Mercy's monthly staff meetings include a devotional and prayer involving different members of the leadership team. Additionally, we have included the annual theme of FAITH, Matthew 17:20.2. Mercy Community Healthcare completed a full remodeling of the Health Center, suite 319 to include an on-site pharmacy; the Counseling Center, suite 202 housing 16 individual therapists with a group room, Parent Child Interactive Therapy room and a conference area; the addition of the Patient and Family Support Center which houses the 13 member Care Coordination Team, the Marketing staff, the CFO with the Accounting staff and Financial counselors.3. This guidance prescribes a minimum probability threshold that a tax position must meet before a financial statement benefit is recognized. The minimum threshold is defined as a tax position that is more likely than not to be sustained upon examination by the applicable taxing authority, including resolution of any related appeals or litigation processes, based on the technical merits of the position. The tax benefit to be recognized is measured as the largest amount of benefit that is greater than fifty percent likely of being realized upon ultimate settlement. This report is very helpful in comparing the budget sizes, patient encounter numbers, and staffing sizes of these centers in order to reach a competitive salary range.
