Accordingly, these funds are managed with disciplined longer-term investment objectives and strategies designed to meet cash flows and spending requirements. Management of the assets is designed to attain the maximum total return consistent with acceptable and agreed upon levels of risk. It is the goal of the aggregate long-term investments to generate an average total annual return that exceeds the spending/payout rate plus inflation. Part X, Line 2: The Foundation accounts for the effect of any uncertain tax positions based on a "more likely than not" threshold to the recognition of the tax positions being sustained based on the technical merits of the position under scrutiny by the applicable taxing authority.
