To develop the evidence base for faith groups' financial activities and contributions to the health and well-being of their communities.Overall in 2017 the CFCG improved the knowledge base relating to activity and contributions in development and humanitarian situations of diverse religious and faith-based organizations, and provided policy makers and practitioners with the information to make evidence based decisions about effective collaboration with faith-based organizations . Among the major 2017 accomplishments were : LEARNING HUBS:Under the Joint Learning Initiative on Faith and Local Communities, (JLI) 3 Learning Hubs were active in 2017, and delivered diverse scoping reports, policy briefs and scholarly articles on the activity and contribution of religious and faith-based organizations in each thematic area. The 3 Learning Hubs are: 1) Gender-based Violence, 2) Refugee and Forced Migration, 3) Mobilization of Local Faith Communities. A new Learning Hub on Ending Violence Against Children was launched at a meeting of the Global Network of Religions for Children in Panama and held its first meeting at the Salvation Army in NYC on September 2, 2017. Plans for a new Hub on Anti-Human Trafficking were developed for launch in 2018. 0 49574 CFCG's PROJECT JLI:The project was co-host of the Forum on Localizing Humanitarian Response: The Role of Religious and FBOs held in Sri Lanka October 2017. The Forum brought together local faith actors from 36 countries to 1) learn from Sri Lankan interfaith leaders about their response to disasters and to post civil war peacemaking and 2) share their respective experiences with each other.
