Research award applications are reviewed by a committee of internal and external scientists, who meet with the Director of the Division of Research to make their recommendations for the final determination of specific awards and award amounts. The Senior Administrator to the Director of Research tracks the awardee's research progress and expenditures through their stay at MBL to ensure that the awardees stay closely within budget and reviews the required report due approximately one month after the completion of the term covered by the research award.
