The Foundation seeks to link the generosity of American citizens, churches and philanthropy to increase the reach and impact of effective workers. 0 0 2500798 2361942 AMHF provides support for hospitals and medical clinics in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa. It provides grants to multiple hospitals in the region to help with medical supplies, equipment and infrastructure, and medical education. In 2017, AMHF made investments that will make possible more than 1,250,000 life-time patient visits and approximately 140,000 patient visits over the following twelve-month period. AMH also enabled approximately 2,900 surgical and corrective procedures. AMHF's selected operational support and investments in equipment, infrastructure and selected operations during 2017 included installing power generation equipment in Zambia, providing emergency equipment and operational support in South Sudan, constructing staff housing in Uganda, expanding pediatric care facilities in Tanzania, improving surgical facilities in Burundi, providing a surgical table in Angola and constructing residential apartments in Cameroon. 854524 854524 AMHF partnered with watsi.org, a social media crowdfunding platform and other private donors to raise funds for surgeries under our "Surgical Access For Everyone" (SAFE) program; these surgeries were conducted at hospital partners in Kenya, Tanzania, Ugandan, Ethiopia, Burundi, South Sudan, Malawi, Angola, Cameroon, and Zambia. In 2017, more than 1,800 cases for poor patients were sponsored.
