HIV convening efforts yielded the cross-sector adoption of an intervention protocol known as the 90-90-90-50 model that has proven effective in reducing new HIV infections by 50 percent in other communities. The Foundation also hosted an annual conference for 18 recipients of its 2016 grants that offered technical training with a national health equity communications expert and a film festival of videos showcasing their work. 123934 2) Research: Research and data underpin the Foundation's investments and help ensure that priorities align with community needs and its health equity mission. Reports undertaken in 2017 focused on priorities identified through community listening sessions and surveys: housing, education and the capacity of the nonprofit sector working in the social determinants of health. Five research efforts were completed: a study of the economic impact of the nonprofit sector in Pinellas County; a scan and survey of the operations and missions of county nonprofits; the first phase of a countywide housing survey; a scan of key education topics in the county for future in-depth research; and a study of the availability of wireless Internet services for families of school-aged children.
