Higher Ground support and advocacy for the three district schools has resulted in the schools' accessing several new resources. During fiscal year 2018, Higher Ground continued with support services to three local district schools and including supporting the parents, teachers and students at the Higginson K0-2 Full Inclusion School to secure a $500,000 grant from the city of Boston Community Preservation Fund and engage an architect to design a playground that will be constructed in the summer of 2019. Also in fiscal year 2018, Higher Ground continued to play a lead role a pilot program to address the growing challenge of homeless students in Boston schools. The Family-Led Stability Pilot (FLSP) was launched in January 2018 following two years of planning through a collaboration of the city of Boston Education Cabinet, Boston Public Schools (BPS), Department of Neighborhood Development, Boston Housing Authority three other non-profit organizations - Project Hope, Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI) and New Lease for Homeless Families - and the Chair of the City Council Committees o Education and Homelessness. The pilot program began with seven inner city schools including four that Higher Ground is supporting. In fiscal year 2018, Higher Ground began exploration of building on its support of three local district schools and the Crispus Attucks Children's Center and develop a strong local network or alliance of educational institutions that share best practices and provide a pathway for excellent education beginning in the children's first months of life through middle school. 99896 0 150000 Early Childhood Development: Higher Ground continued to support high quality child care services in its target area. Following an initial year of collaboration with the Crispus Attucks Children's Center (CACC), Higher Ground entered into a three-year agreement with CACC to support it in increasing its enrollment closer to capacity and to serve more children and families in Higher Ground's target area.
