Form 990, Part VI, Line 15a Periodically the job descriptions and compensation of our personnel are reviewed by the human resouce department of Academy District 20 and found to be in line with people they would hire at comparable levels of education, experience and responsibility. If discrepancies were found, we put in place a process to address the issue within the yearly job performance and pay increase cycle. We used the District 20 scale as a separate but validly analogous scale of competitive pay because they study the topic of contemporaneous substantiation every year so they can attract and retain the best people in the state. We consider our CEO to be a level of responsibility somewhere between a middle school asst principal and principal. Because of our financial position over the the past few years, we have tended to hold this to the low side. The exact pay is approved by the board of directors after careful consideration of comparable compensation rates and level of performance of the individual.
