The result is a new, larger and more connected association with a unified, coordinated and higher profile voice, aligned in mission and message, and ultimately more effective at advancing the industry and profession in which we all share an abiding passion. The Insights Association strives to effectively represent, advance, and grow the research profession and industry. Specifically, the organization: Provides government advocacy through legislative, regulatory and judicial means; Cares for and improves the industry's image in the eyes of the media and public; Markets the business case for industry products and services to buyers and users Sets and enforces professional standards; Establishes and reinforces best practices; and Helps members grow their businesses, their departments, and themselves as research professionals. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 The Association has members. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The members elect the Board of Directors. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b Members in good standing are eligible to vote on Association matters. The Bylaws may be amended or repealed in whole or in part by an affirmative majority vote of the membership in accordance with the provisions of the Bylaws. The Bylaws also may be amended by an affirmative two-thirds majority vote of the Board of Directors provided that the change does not fundamentally alter the Association's purpose, as determined by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors will inform the membership within 30 days of all changes to the Bylaws. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The Form 990 is prepared by independent accountant. Review of the Form 990 is a joint effort between the Executive Committee, the CEO and the staff to ensure accuracy, completeness and overall compliance. Any issues regarding accuracy, or completeness are corrected prior to filing of the Form 990. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c Any conflicts of interest are identified and monitored throughout the year and any deviations or concerns are brought to the Board of Directors's attention for further review and resolution. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15a Compensation paid to the CEO is negotiated between the compensation committee of the Board of Directors and the CEO benchmarking against salary survey data. Such issues as base compensation and bonuses, if any, are determined at the time of the negotiations and included in the terms of the contract. Performance is reviewed on an annual basis by the Executive Committee and brought to the full Board for approval, to determine compliance and pay bonuses based upon that performance. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, line 19 Governing documents and the Association's conflict of interest policy are provided to interested parties upon request. The Organization's Articles and Bylaws are made available on the Organization's website. Financial statements are available upon request, provided the request is in writing and a reasonable amount of time allowed to gather the information and to deliver it to the requester. Form 990 is made available to all interested parties by request and by accessing the Guidestar Website.
