Finance summits, meetings, exhibitions and workshops are held throughout the year. Government Affairs - IBTTA's government affairs arm advocates for a political environment that fosters the growth and widespread adoption of tolling as a viable means to fund and finance road, bridge and tunnel infrastructure. THe national interoperability (NIOP) testing process is an effort of the Association to comply with a congressional mandate for the creation of a nationally interoperable electronic toll collection (ETC) system. The testing process is focused on determining a preferred ETC protocol that any toll operator could offer their customers that would allow wider compatibility with existing payment systems. The non-fixed compensation of the Executive Director is also budgeted in advance (a maximum of 18% of salary) and the executive committee of the Board decides what portion, if any, to award to the Executive Director based on his meeting specifc goals.
