However, income from activities not directly related to the Organizations tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. The Organization did not engage in any unrelated business activities during the year ended December 31, 2018.The Organization has adopted the authoritative guidance relating to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes included in ASC Topic Income Taxes. These provisions provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entitys financial statements and prescribe a threshold of more likely than not for recognition and de-recognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. The Organization performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions for the year ended December 31, 2018, and determined that there were no material matters that would require recognition in the financial statements or that may have an effect on its tax-exempt status. As of December 31, 2018, that statute of limitations for tax years 2015 through 2017 remains open with the Internal Revenue Service. It is the Organizations policy to recognize interest and/or penalties related to uncertain tax positions, if any, in income tax expense. Then, Form 990 is reviewed by the board of directors and audit committee who give the final approval prior to filing it with the IRS. Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts On an annual basis, each member of the Board of Directors and Officers shall be provided with a copy of the conflict of interest policy, and shall complete and sign the acknowledgement and disclosure form. The Board of Directors will determine whether or not a conflict of interest exists, and whether or not such conflict materially and adversely affects the interests of the Organization.
