Its exempt status, assuming a favorable determination, will be retroactive to the date of its incorporation on 1/30/2018. In addition, it was licensed as a hospital by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, who issued a license to St. Lukes DES Peres Episcopal-Presbyterian Hospital on May 1, 2018. From primary care to emergency care, with general medical and specialty surgical services, specializing in bariatric, orthopedics and heart care. Other services include radiology, endoscopy, laboratory, gastroenterology, ENT/otolaryngology, foot care, nutrition counseling, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, urology, urogynecology and vascular care. We provide caring treatment in a 143-bed acute care hospital with network access to higher level services if needed. In support of our mission, St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital provides care to patients regardless of their ability to pay, which includes those who lack financial resources and are deemed to be medically indigent. In addition, the organization provides services to other medically indigent patients under various state Medicaid programs. Such programs pay providers amounts that are less than the related costs for the services provided to the recipients. St. Lukes Des Peres Hospital has a proud heritage of graduate medical education. Since 1954 we have provided quality osteopathic medical education. We currently have six osteopathic residency programs in: family medicine, internal medicine, general surgery, anesthesiology, otolaryngology/facial plastic surgery and orthopedic surgery. We offer hands on clinical experience through hospital rotations. Participation on our clinical rotation programs provides medical students an opportunity to begin their growing knowledge in a true healthcare environment. St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital is a core training site for the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. We also schedule medical students from all other osteopathic medical schools for single/multiple rotations. St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital has been recognized as one of America's Best Hospitals for Bariatrics, Orthopedics and Patient Safety by the national Women's Choice Award program. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of St. Luke's physicians, staff and volunteers who provide quality, compassionate care to our patients every day.
