However, MEA did receive fees of $44,917 for challenging a permit granted by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to Meteor Timber, LLC, which would allow the filling of rare wetlands in western Wisconsin (Ho-Chunk Nation v. DNR). This would result in the largest destruction of a wetland of this type in recent history. MEA also received fees of $2,000 to challenge a settlement between Dairy Business Association and Wisconsin DNR that relaxed DNR rules governing water pollution by concentrated animal feedlot operations (DBA v. DNR); and fees of $1,600 to file an amicus brief on behalf of plaintiffs challenging the Wisconsin attorney general's ruling that DNR cannot take into account the cumulative impact of high capacity wells on groundwater levels when awarding water use permits (Clean WI v.
