The applications are received through our grant coordinator according to their appropriate program. The application is then vetted to ensure that it meets the minimum requirements. Our Frontline Leaders Fund committee receives, reviews and votes on the application. Additional information or new proposal applications may be requested. If the application is approved, the grant coordinator notifies the applicant or entity of its approval, via our prepopulated email template. The Frontline Leaders Fund staff creates a grant contract in Docusign and sends to the grantee. The Frontlines Director sends the contract to the Finance Department to file into DropBox and issue the mini grant check to the appropriate recipient. Grantees are expected to complete a simple grant report, which is then filed in Powerbase. Recipients should submit grant reports to the Frontlines Fund Director for the appropriate program. SVA has a board-approved tiered system of compensation and classification for job types designed to employ best practices around equity and inclusion. The compensation rates are generated using comparative data from the NC Center for Nonprofits. Salary and benefit scales are documented and kept on file according to our document retention policy. The board of directors sets the executive salaries for the organization, then the Co-Executive Directors set salaries for the rest of the staff in alignment with the equity salary scale that was adopted by the board of directors. Annual compensation is voted on by the board at the time of the annual budget and documented in the board notes.
