At the same time, the Centers helped parents finish their education, learn job readiness skills, build social networks, and improve their parenting skills to help them reach their greatest potential. In FY 2018, the Family Support Centers served approximately 1,900 families.Parent Cafes, lead by trained facilitators and supported by Maryland Family Network, provided 85 peer-to-peer learning opportunities that focused on the five Strengthening Families Protective Factors for over 1,000 people in Maryland. 4171249 1982991 175984 Create quality early learning environments: Maryland Family Network's 12 Child Care Resource Centers provided over 1,860 training workshops drawing over 31,000 attendees who tend not only to the health and safety needs of young children, but also to their social, emotional, and cognitive development. LOCATE: Child Care provided counseling to families to identify and select licensed, quality child care. In FY 2018, LOCATE: Child Care referral specialists assisted a total of 4,024 callers find care for 5,278 children. LOCATE: Child Care and the Maryland After-School database are two web-enabled databases which families use to search for child care and after-school activities for their children. In FY 2018, 7,541 users accessed LOCATE Assist and conducted 24,709 searches for child care. In FY 2018, 1,933 searches were conducted in the After-School database. 101227 A champion for the interests of young children and their families: Through our strong advocacy and public policy presence, Maryland Family Network leads the charge for very young children and all those concerned with their wellbeing at the local, state, and federal levels.
