We operate community service centers in Union, Elizabeth, Roselle, Plainfield and Hillside which provide recreational activities, including swimming, social and educational activities and summer camp. During the year the staff were aided by more than 200 community volunteers who provided more than 7,700 hours of volunteer service to the assist us in providing these services.Sports, Fitness & Recreation - These programs help develop fitness, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the environment and social & interpersonal skills. Programs include physical fitness, basketball clinics and leagues, golf instruction, self defense, etc. Our aquatics programs include swim lessons, swim team and lifeguard training. Character & Leadership - Our teens, ages 14-18, participated in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation and community service. These programs aim to have a positive impact on members, the Club and the community. We also provide similar programs to our 11 to 13 members through small group leadership and service clubs. These programs serve as a vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their life. Education & Career Preparation - We provide affordable and high quality licensed after school programs with a daily average attendance of 200 children. Programs include an interactive after school homework assistance program for children aged 6 to 13. Through our career preparation programs, 150 Club teens age 13 to 18 years old embarked on a journey to explore possible vocations, make sound educational decisions and find success in the world of work.Arts & Technology - These programs provide for an appreciation of the visual arts, crafts. performing arts, and creative writing. Our technology initiative engages members with personalized, hands on experiences.
