During 2018 there were 4 playground projects in development with the following accomplishments: (l) Redwood City, CA - construction began on the playground project with a target opening of 2019. Engaged 124 donors and approximately 75 volunteers for this project. (2) Sunnyvale, CA - fundraising continued for the Sunnyvale Magical Bridge project at Fair Oaks Park, in 2018 we engaged 285 donors (3) Morgan Hill, CA - fundraising continued for the Morgan Hill Magical Bridge project at Community Park. In 2018 we engaged 187 donors, (3) Mountain View, CA - In 2018 officially announced Magical Bridge Mountain View as our 5 playground project. In 2018 we engaged 360 donors in Mountain View. In addition, in 2018, the foundation held various programs at the Magical Bridge's flagship playground in Palo Alto, where an estimated 25,000 people visited the playground each month, and hosted approximately 300 volunteers, who worked as Kindness Ambassadors, volunteered for our school-based coin drives, or assisted at monthly events and our summer concert series at the playground. Accomplishments included: (1) 2017 "Music is Magic" concert series with 14 concerts at 10K attendees over the whole series, (2) Furthered the work of "Team Visual Magic" a group creating playground innovations for the visually impaired, (3) Showcased Magical Bridge Playground innovations at Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt's Access and Ability Exhibit in New York City. In 2018, Magical Bridge Foundation announced its partnership to build a playground in Mountain View, CA. Magical Bridge Foundation was already under contract to build and fundraise for playground projects in Sunnyvale, CA and Morgan Hill, CA. An additional contract in partnership with UnaMesa Association was signed in 2016 but included activity in 2017 and 2018. As part of these contracts, Magical Bridge Foundation supported applications by the applicable city to the County of Santa Clara All-Inclusive Playground Grant Program (AIPG). Through this partnership, Magical Bridge playground projects secured $2M of AIPG funding for the city of Morgan Hill and $1.7M for the city of Sunnyvale and $1.7M for the city of Mountain View. These grants were pledged directly to the cities and were not received by Magical BridgeFoundation.
