The initial draft return is then reviewed by the organization's management and its finance committee. Representatives of this group will then discuss the contents of the return with the outside tax professionals. After full review (with modifications where necessary) the complete 990 is provided to all members of the Organization's Board of Directors for their review and comment prior to its filing with the Depratment of the Treasury. Form 990, Part VI, Line 12c: Explanation of Monitoring and Enforcement of Conflicts Board members and officers must annually acknowledge compliance with the policy. Form 990, Part VI, Line 15a: Compensation Review & Approval Process - CEO, Top Management The Organization has a Compensation Committee consisting of at least three Directors who review the compensation of the Executive Director annually in accordance with the IRS rules and regulations. The Compensation Committee determines appropriate compensation based on a review of compensation surveys for executives of similar size and type of organizations as well as other extraneous records. All findings are presented to the full board which then approves the compensation. Every effort is made to see that the process is thorough and transparent. Form 990, Part VI, Line 19: Other Organization Documents Publicly Available Organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request. Part III, Statement of Program Service Accomplisments The Contra Costa Family Justice Center, at its two locations, was established in 2015. That year, The Center served 1,127 families, in 2016, 1,907 families, in 2017, 2,442 families. In 2018 The Contra Costa Family Justice Center served 3,074 families. The steady increase in the number of clients seeking services is a testament to the quality of The Center's services and programs as well as outreach efforts. The Center also added and welcomed 6 new on-site MOU partners, for a total of 48. In addition to client services, The Center also hosted 242 events, thereby bringing professionals and community members together to learn about and discuss interpersonal violence. The Center trained more than 1,300 professionals on various IPV related topics.
