The Organization, through the use of this arrangement, saves the administrative costs of maintaining a payroll system and filing the related payroll taxes. FORM 990, PART VI, LINE 2 Nine of the board members are employees of Time Equities, Inc (TEI), an entity owned by the President/Chairman. This company provides resources for accounting services, use of accounting software, accounts payable, and bill payment services along with other administrative services. This allows the Organization to save on bookkeeping, accounting, and software fees, allowing more funds to be spent directly on programs rather than administrative costs. FORM 990, PART VI, LINE 4 The change to the Articles of Incorporation broadened the mission statement to: Educate and Advocate: 1) about social justice for disadvantaged communities both in the United States and abroad, including, but not limited to, low income communities, minority communities, and victims of natural disasters; and 2) for charitable support and programs for those disadvantaged communities. This change was to ensure that the Organization could continue to engage in Hurricane Relief efforts and support disadvantaged communities in other ways not necessarily related to criminal justice reform.
