As part of the program, HAF recruited and placed more than 50 interns at various public land sites. Undergraduate and graduate students worked alongside agency staff adn received additional training, mentoring, and support through HAF. The Mano Project is an educational project partially funded by the Federal Government. The form was also reviewed by the board of directors prior to filing with the IRS. The staff members and board of directors are required to sign the document stating that they have reviewed the policy and disclosed any interest, as applicable.
