We added funding to meet our diversity and inclusion goals, including funding for a part time librarian for the 19-20 school year so we can create a library for children that is more reflective of a diverse community and explicity teaches inclusion. We added soundproofing to the lunch room and multipurpose room to make educational and social experiences more enjoyable. We added offerings to clubs and sports, and improved the school grounds for safety and enjoyment by refreshing mulch in play areas, adding a new outdoor area for younger students, including a new play apparatus - a wooden train structure. Upper Elementary: We funded two weeks of teacher work to onboard to a new software (Transparent Classroom) that allows teachers to share more information with parents about their childs progress, the Montessori materials used to develop academic knowledge and skills, and keep better classroom records. We hired a new teacher for the UE program and invested in her onboarding during the summer as well. Middle School: We hired a new Humanities teacher and invested in several weeks of onboarding for her to master currilculum and also funded her training at the IB MYP level for two curriculum areas. We funded continued development of our personalized math curriculum and IB training for several specialist teachers. Lower Elementary: We funded two weeks of teacher work to redesign the classroom and update benchmarks, scope and sequence of curriculum, and parent communication protocol on curricular happenings. The redesign of the rooms involved taking down a wall, purchasing new furniture, and adding new quality Montessori materials to the classroom. Infant / Toddler: We continued to add provided lunch days and at a subsidized rate. We increased our Spanish and Music Together offerings for our youngest students and added new learning materials and a new play apparatus in the inside play area. We funded training for an assistant to earn her Montessori credential. We replaced dishwashers to reduce the preparation time teachers need to offer snack and meal service with real plates and glassware, in keeping with Dr. Montessoris method. Primary: We added a greenhouse component to our summer program and increased our investment of summer materials and student experiences and outings. We funded summer work to be done on the Primary library renovation and book renewal.
