The amount raised from the silent auction is included in total contributions, but the value of the non-cash donation is not, as it is based primarily on donor assessment. The value of the non-cash contributions such as volunteer hours and donations for silent auction are disclosed in the footnotes of the audited financial statements. For 2019 the amount was $25,840. Values are determined by amounts provided by the donors. The auditor advised that this was an immaterial amount and did not need to be adjusted. During the board meetings, and with discussion of the board chair, the conflict of interest policy is reviewed and enforced. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Officers and directors are not compensated. The key employee's compensation is decided by the board members that do not have any conflict of interest with employees. Only the compensation for the key employee is listed. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Austin Speech Labs has 11 board members, all of which have voting rights. None of the board members are compensated for their volunteer hours. The board meets once per quarter. Board chair volunteers 2-5 hours per week while the treasurer spends 5-6 hours per quarter reviewing the financials. Austin Speech Labs had a financial audit for 2019 and the audit report was presented to the board. The board reviews the taxes at the end of the year but not before the Form990 is filed. Financials are reviewed by the board each quarter. Conflict of interest is not made public, however all annual reports and policies are available upon request. We filed for an extension in April 2019.
