School year 23-2024 saw a total of 424 student participants in TN out of school programming. This is a 163% increase of student participation compared to 2022-2023! Our programs were implemented throughout all three schools in our watershed located in Telluride, Norwood, and Nucla (the West End). TN offered a total of 2397 in-school and out-of-school program hours. We provided 550 program hours of college access and preparatory aid, some of those programs include: College 101, Financial Aid 101, college essay seminars, and a college field trip with Telluride students. We provided 9 in school programs and 324 hours of workforce preparedness for teens. Students practiced resume building, cover letter writing, as well as interview skills and preparation. 1,066 hours of out-of-school extra-curricular access to the outdoors including:Nordic Skiing, alpine skiing, a field trip to the Outdoor Wilderness Lab, a week long canoe trip, & backpacking in the Lizard Head wilderness. We took the Norwood 8th grade class to Denver to tour two college campuses and expose them to a broader spectrum of career opportunities. Our After school homework club (Base Camp programs) served 110 students (38 unique) participated in our after school homework club at TMHS. The Nucla after school homework club served over 40 students throughout the year. Norwood Friday (no-school) programming served 15 students. TN opened a shop in the Norwood schools' tech building with incredible donated goods including clothes, mountain bikes, snowboards, shoes, games, and free winter coats. TN partnered with 11 businesses from Telluride to Naturita to offer local teens summer jobs through our Jobs Connect 2024 program.
