The president of the University serves as an ex-officio member of the board of directors. An affiliation agreement exists between the organization and the supported University. The Executive Director of the Organization is an employee of the Supported Organization. Under the affiliation agreement, the supported organization provides facilities and staffs an office in which the organization conducts operations. Part IV, Section D, Line 3: Role The Organization's Supported Orgs. Played Endowment funds held by the organization are designated for various colleges and departments within the universiity. Annually, department heads are tasked with providing a listing of their needs; the organization determines available funds based upon a formula applied to endowments and then fulfills annual requests based upon availability of such funds. If a donor specifically designates a donation for a particular department to be dispersed upon request rather than added to an endowment, the donation is transferred upon request, in addition to the annual requests. Part IV, Section E, Line 2a: Identify Supported Orgs. and Explain How Activities Furthered Exempt Pu The organization's sole mission is to support Texas A&M University Kingsville and, as such, holds funds dedicated to the support of programs within the University. Donations received are identified and held for the purpose of support of different departments and programs within the University. These funds are held either in endowments or as temporarily restricted funds. Periodically, capital campaigns are held to increase available funds for both short term and long term use by the University. These surveys permit salary comparisons based on region, staff size, operating budget, asset size and experience levels. The board has an affiliation agreement with Texas A&M University Kingsville (TAMUK)- the supported organization. Under this agreement, TAMUK provides services of employees to perform management functions and staff duties to the organization. The board of directors, in addition to being involved with the managment of the organization assesses the performance of the Executive Director and staff provided by TAMUK under the affiliation agreement.
