Foster Care - Foster care is a temporary living arrangement for abused and neglected infants and children who need a safe place to live when their parents or another relative cannot take care of them or when their family is focusing on getting the assistance they need. The goal is to provide a nurturing and safe environment to the child while in foster care and ensure that all the child's medical, social, and emotional needs are met. There is a great need for a structured and loving home that provides guidance and mentorship to youth in care as they transition into independent living. Our transitional living program provides foster homes and assistance to teens, as well as, adolescent pregnant parents. At Credence Village and TDFPS, this is by far our greatest need, as there is a growing population of homeless teens that are exiting out of care with a lack of independent living skills and no family support.
