The evaluations, as well as comparability data, are used to determine compensation for the following year by the President and CEO. The Board members are reimbursed for their expenses of attending A2LA WPT's Board of Directors. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b A2LA Workplace Training, Inc. (A2LA WPT) hires an independent accounting firm to prepare the federal Form 990. After review by the President and CEO, the draft Form 990 is provided to the full A2LA WPT's Board of Directors before it is signed by the President and CEO and filed with the Internal Revenue Service. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c The Conflict of Interest Form is required to be reviewed and signed by all staff, board members, and committee members each year. Once signed and returned, the divulged conflict of interest forms will be included in the signer's database entry. Staff can refer to at any time as well as monitor and enforce the policy with committee members and other staff. Board members are recused from any discussion and voting where they have a conflict of interests. This created the Schedule R filing showing A2LA as a related party for 2019. In December of 2019, two additional non-A2LA related Directors were nominated and duly elected to the Board. The addition of the two directors will no longer make A2LA Workplace Training a related organization of the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation in 2020.
