Mr Haj directed his first production on the McGuire Proscenium Stage, which featured his own adaptation of Edmond Rostand's swashbuckling "Cyrano de Bergerac." The season included Barbara Field's adaptation of Mary Shelley's classic novel "Frankenstein - Playing with Fire," directed by Rob Melrose; Michael Frayn's hilarious farce, "Noises Off," directed by Meredith McDounough; "The Great Leap," by rising playwright Lauren Yee, directed by Desdemona Chiang; Shakepeare's "As You Like It," directed by Lavina Jadhwani; "Metamorphoses," written and directed by Tony Award-winning director and playwright Mary Zimmerman; the world premiere of "Floyd's," a Guthrie commission from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, Lynn Nottage; and the crowd-pleasing summer musical, "Guys and Dolls," directed by Kent Gash. Additionally, the Guthrie collaborated with other local and national theater companies to produce and present 7 additional works in its Dowling Studio and also produced its annual holiday favorite, "A Christmas Carol," directed by Guthrie Associate Producer, Lauren Keating. In total, there were 528 performances of 29 productions attended by over 350,000 people. 566299 334037 In 2018-2019, The Guthrie Theater's partnership with the Minnepolis, St. Paul, Roseville and Robbinsdale School Districts was expanded to include Cloquet High School, which put Guthrie teaching artists in 10 Minnesota public schools where they worked with students for more than 2,500 hours. Through Education Group Sales, 33,345 students from over 215 schools attended a performance at the Guthrie at a free or reduced ticket cost. The Guthrie's "Classes by Request" provided a wide variety of multi-week 90-minute classes and camps, both offsite and in our Learning Center, and additional education programs included pre- and post-play discussions, workshops and conversations with leading artists; behind the scenes tours; classes for adults and children through a partnership with the Hennepin County Library system; and,
