In 2020 - 1,114 calls, $71,983 was paid to clinics for abortions, $4,183 in gas cards, and dozens of volunteer hours supported 120 callers with transportation assistance, $4,380 provided lodging assistance for 25 traveling callers, 13 people received interpretation services, ten new volunteer case managers joined our team. In addition to our Fund, KHJNs Abortion Support work continued to expand. We partner with the National Institute for Reproductive Health to continue working to pass a buffer zone law in Louisville. We began a research partnership with Ibis Reproductive Health to study how barriers to care impact peoples ability to access some types of abortions. KHJNs Support Fund Director worked with attorneys and expert witnesses in the ongoing Whole Womans Health vs Rokita (Indiana) case, while continuing to build connections between clinics, funds, and practicalsupport groups across our regions. KHJN participated in research by the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy to address the need forgrant funders who support reproductive rights to direct more resources to abortion funding.
