We pivoted to remote Montessori education March - June and provided a safe on campus summer experience for our youngest children. We added supports for our faculty, including increasing administrative supports to accomodate for increased absences due to Covid or vaccinations and the need for more staffing due to cohorting of students. We offered weekly HOS communication during the pandemic, live parent Q&A sessions, and parent education offerings specific to pandemic parenting challenges. Increased safety measures by provisioning HVAC air filtering as recommended by CDC, initiated daily disinfection protocols, installed social distancing signs and reduced school capacity to comply with State Covid requirements. Installed new telecommunications systems that increased public annnouncement and other communication capabilities. Lower Elementary through Middle School: Providing specials and after school care during remote learning and supporting the teams needs in meeting this age-groups challenges with remote learning. Continuing to advance curriclum goals despite a pandemic. Adding Literacy and student services value to these programs. Primary: Were able to purchase and send home materials weekly so learning with Montessori materials could continue despite having to lead remote learning. Infant / Toddler: We adapted the learning environments to meet strict cohorting requirments, were successful in having children as young as two-years of age mask, and created an additional nap room to ensure social distancing.
