Nourish's Mobile Food Bank visits 19 unique locations each week including schools, community centers and small businesses in areas of great poverty and/or limited access to nourishing food options.In 2019 NOURISH served over 60,344 unduplicated people in Pierce County during 443,893 food bank visits and distributed 6.3 (+) million pounds of food for a total of more than 4.0 million nourishing meals. We are a volunteer driven organization and in 2019, 1,674 volunteers donated more than 83,000 hours. Since many of our clients are in need of more than just food, we also offer wrap-around services. Connection Centers offer a single point of access to provide information about services to help move clients towards self-sufficiency. Services include information and assistance with SNAP benefits, basic healthcare, financial counseling, credit repair, Social Security, Medicaid/Medicare, immunizations and free tax preparation. Additionally, clothing banks provide free clothing to families in need at two of our branches. Nourish impacts the community by helping provide the most basic need--balanced, nutritious food for families and individuals.
