The endowment fund contributions are invested in a conservative manner in order to preserve or increase the fund balance while generating an income stream to support the mission of conservation research. true Conservation and restoration grants 2 6700 Monitoring procedures (Part I, line 2) The Societys committees review grant applications for awards and programs. Each reviewer completes a ranking sheet for each application. The rankings are based on adherence to the application criteria. All awardees are required to submit progress reports, provide presentation at the Annual Conference, and add to the literature on Florida native plants and plant communities. Grants may be awarded to organizations or individuals. Members or stockholder classes and rights Part VI line 6 A member is any dues-paying person, household/family, business, or organization supporting the mission of the Society. No member shall possess any property right in or to any property of the Society. Members generally have the right to (1) participate in Society sponsored activites, (2) have one vote on any question requiring a vote of the general membership, (3) seek election as an Officer or Director or appointment to a committee, and (4) attend meetings of the Board or Executive Committee on a non-participating basis. Member election for additional members Part VI line 7a Annually members appoint and vote on board officers. Governing body decisions Part VI line 7b Members approve any changes to the organizations bylaws. The form is reviewed by the Finance Committee and then presented to the board for approval by unanimous vote. Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12c We discuss potential and actual conflicts of interest, review sponsors and vendors as a committee, have policies set up to define appropriate sponsorship or donations, and have the option to abstain from voting if there is a COI that appears during discussion/voting. We also screen potential board members for COI before nominations and voting every year. The Board members are asked to read the conflict-of-interest policy and fill out the form annually. If any Board members or others believe that an undeclared conflict exists, the matter is brought to the attention of the President and Executive Committee and then brought to the attention of the Board for action.
