Lecture attendance: 576 2500 The Strange Persistence of Guilt:Bill McClay, the G.T. and Libby Blankenship Chair in the History of Liberty at the University of Oklahoma and the Director of the Center for the History of Liberty, explored the prevalence of guilt in our society. We hosted a follow-up dinner and breakfast with McClay for students and faculty to further explore his lecture. Students had the opportunity to learn from Duke Christian faculty members from a variety of disciplines, engage with them and fellow students in stimulating discussions, and build community with like minded Duke students.CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE: 15 (estimated) 174299 19 additional programming events/series including:Human Rights and the Recovery of Moral Knowledge: Gary Haugen, CEO of International Justice Mission, and Peter Wehner, VP & Senior Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, spoke on the global struggle for justice, freedom, and human dignity and the way the contemporary university must recover the pursuit of moral knowledge if it aspires to be useful in equipping students and citizens to make good choices in that struggle.
