During the pandemic lockdown, we focused our efforts on one-on-one outreach/check-ins by our Coach/Mentors and other staff to a roster of 90 skaters we had worked with over the previous 3 years and providing zoom-based opportunities to check-in as a group and/or to participate in workshops on a variety of topics of interest/utility to the community. As the lockdown ended, our Coach/Mentors circulated through skate parks connecting with skaters on our roster via informal skate sessions and in-person one-on-ones, and we supported a variety of collectives and other skate community groups in organizing in-person/outdoor workshops and events. 18500 0 VISTA Program: Through a partnership with Up2Us Sports and AmeriCorps, we were able to provide 2 full-time year-round and 2 full-time summer positions in the Volunteers in Service to America Program for local NYC skaters.
