According to the Texas annual report and data book from the Department of Family and Protective Services, Tarrant County had the 3rd highest number of confirmed cases of child abuse in the state. Our volunteers served a total of 1,106 abused and neglected children in Tarrant Country foster care. The current year schedule of endowment activity on Schedule D, Part V shows $184,956 of expenditures. This amount is actually a correction of previously reported amounts related to the endowment. In all prior years reflected on that schedule, the balances reflect the organization's total restricted net assets, not just those related to the endowment. The $184,956 expenditure amount for the current year is the cumulative amount needed to correct this disclosure. The Organization had no actual expenditures of endowment funds in the current year. Part X, Line 2: The Organization is generally exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, as an organization other than a private foundation. US GAAP requires management to evaluate tax positions taken by the Organization and recognize a tax liability (or asset) if the Organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the Internal Revenue Service. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the Organization and has concluded that as of December 31, 2020 and 2019, there were no uncertain positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements. The Organization is subject to routine audits by taxing jurisdictions; however, there are currently no audits for any tax periods in progress. The Organization files Federal Form 990 in the United States federal jurisdiction within the United States. At December 31, 2020, the Organization's tax return for the years ended 2017 through present remain open to possible examination by any tax authorities. The Organization has not incurred any penalties or interest related to any examinations for the years ended December 31, 2020 and 2019.
