Foundation guidelines are met for mission, geographic area, program area, and population served. Required documents from potential grantees include audited financial statements, IRS determination letter and IRS Form 990. After initial verification has taken place, a program officer/grants manager is assigned to each proposal. Additionally, site visits are conducted with representatives from the organization, and a narrative summary is completed for the distribution/grant committee. All proposals are then carefully reviewed by staff and the distribution/grant committee to identify those applications that best serve the Foundation's mission and analyze proposed budgets to fulfill its' obligations as steward for the Foundation funds. After the selection process is complete, the distribution committee makes its' recommendations to the full Board of Trustees at its' next meeting.
