This was all due to COVID which materially affected most ministries around the world. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 2 Rev. Leif Hetland and Jennifer Hetland are a husband/wife team in evangelism. The other members of the board are not related to the Hetlands. It is not unusual for Mrs. Hetland to be asked to speak at various meetings. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11a The federal Form 990 was made available to the board prior to filing for the year 2020. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12a The organization is often reminded that all efforts to reach the world for Christ must be done with integrity and honesty. All potential conflicts of interest are resolved and it is the goal of all concerned to be above reproach on all ministry matters. The conflict of Interest policy presently in place with the organization is the same policy recommended by the organizationss CPA which is consistent with the sample policy provided by the Internal Revenue Service. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15a Compensation package to Rev. Hetland is annually approved by the Board of Trustees. Form 990, Part VIII, Line 1d The organization has a related 501c3 ministry called Leif Hetland Ministries. During the year 2020, GMA gifted to the organization 49,860 to assist in furthering the cause of Christ. In reality, Global Mission Awareness was created to help mission work throughout the world while Leif Hetland Ministries was created to primarily reach souls for Christ in America. Howerver, over time. many conferences, revivals, etc. would have the same speakers, etc. so there is a constant relationship between the two entities to further enhance their mission for Christ Form 990, Part VIII, Line 11 a and b During the year 2020, the ministry received a much needed PPP loan Paycheck Protection Program in the amount of 29,000. Earlier this year 2021, the ministry received official word that the amount was forgiven and did not have to be paid back. Accordingly, the ministry chose to record this amount as Other Income. Similarly, the ministgry received a SBA relief grant in the amount of 6,000. This amount is also forgiven and thus taken into income on this return. Form 990, Part IX, Line 24a Due to COVID, ministry trips diminished greatly in 2020. However, in mid-February of 2020, a large event took place in Castle Rock, CO entitled Kingdom Family Gathering. This three-day event was a huge sucess. Global Mission Awareness flew in 18 individuals, speakers, pastors, and evangelists to minister. The dates were February 12/16, 2020. Form 990, Part V, Line 1a From time to time, other professionals ministers, writers, etc. might receive a payment for services related to the ministry. When this happens, W-9s are properly received from the payee and Form 1099NEC, etc. are submitted at year-end when required. In the year 2020, six 1099s were submitted.
