We identify, train, and coach them so they can work collaboratively with their volunteers to solve their own problems. 10598 0 0 Financial Services/Education: For the past 16 years FRI has provided support for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Financial Education Literacy Programs to 14,735 individuals and families and have kept more than $26,000,000 in tax refunds in the community. Over 60% of our families are Hispanic, 19% are Asian & Other, 13% are African American, and 8% are White. In 2020, over 40 volunteers donated 587 hours valued at $15,967, served 875 families, and returned $2,005,263 to community residents through their tax returns. 5000 0 0 Resist COVID/Take 6! Campaign: In March 2020, when the shelter in place order was declared for Dallas County, FRI went to work to help communicate with our Black, Brown, and Native American community on how folks in Far East Dallas can stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. We worked to communicate where people can go within Far East Dallas to receive emergency services like food, rental assistance, and healthcare. On an annual basis major business relationships are reviewed for any possible conflicts of interest transactions. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The governing body reviews and approves compensation package for the Executive Director. Any board member with a conflict of interest with respect to the compensation in question is not allowed to participate in the deliberations. All documents used to justify the compensation package given, notes of discussions conducted, and final decisions made are maintained within the minutes of meetings held.
