The LVCHO also continues a steering committee role in partnership with the Santa Barbara County Trails Council to bring the Healthy People Healthy Trails program to Lompoc including guided hikes and prescriptions for physical activity. The LVCHO completed a contract with Santa Barbara County to implement a 2020 Census Complete Count effort to ensure Lompoc residents were counted. The LVCHO also completed a COVID-19 response grant to help identify isolated seniors and connect them to needed resources during the pandemic as well as funds to put together and facilitate the distribution of COVID-19 care packages for local patients. The LVCHO received funding from Together Toward Health to promote vaccination opportunities locally, share education and outreach to combate vaccine hesitancy. After adjusting to remote work during the 2020 pandemic the LVCHO secured funding to overhaul the organization Website and work toward collecting and distributing information on organization impact. LVCHO is in the process of hiring a bilingual cultural advocate and program coordinator to better connect with the Lompoc community.
