Convened two learning cohorts Industry and Inclusion and Pathways to Patient Capital, with eight and 14 cohort members, respectively also created an advisory board for both programs, with 15 expert practitioners on each board hosted over a dozen internal, virtual learning sessions for our cohort members where we invited experts to present on various topics and created short takeaway documents for all events. Built out our ecosystem building work in the Bay Area bringing governmental economic and workforce development staff together to learn about manufacturing in 2020 we met weekly throughout the COVID-19 crisis to support communities with things like PPE connections, communicate about guideline changes for manufacturing businesses, and generally connect to each other and resources. It is the first of what we hope to be a series of similar UMA initiatives focusing on real estate. Presented at virtual conferences, including ICCCs NatCon, on Becoming a Made In Business Kauffman Foundations ESHIP Summit, on Building Local Brands For Urban Manufacturing Ecosystems Forward Cities, on The Role of Manufacturing in Small Business Growth American Craft Forum, on Advocating for local manufacturing and centering the makers movement in community. Convened our Local Branding Community of Practice on a monthly basis, bringing together over a dozen organizations to learn from one another, share resources, and surface solutions, particularly as they moved through COVID-19 response Form 990, Part III, Line 4d 2020 Accomplishments continued Our executive director served on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine committee on Regional STEMM Workforce Needs in the Wake of COVID-19. Convened two virtual meetings in Birmingham, AL, introducing both service providers and business owners to the concept of building a Local Branding Initiative, in partnership with Nest. Released three reports 1. A mission-driven industrial real estate development toolkit, in partnership with ANHD, and hosted a corresponding webinar event. 2. Forging Fairness, a profile piece on our Pathways to Patient Capital cohort, both on their practices and the practitioners themselves. 3. A commentary on the intersection of racial equity and advanced manufacturing, in partnership with The Century Foundation.
