Following our work in 2020, TWL partnered with the Workers Defense Project in 2021 to distribute an emergency grant fund of 40,000 to continue evaluating what strategies work to build worker power alongside providing cash grants. During this time, TWL also launched a national participatory research project in partnership with Aspen Institute to deepen our understanding of gig workers and gig work. Between these two projects, we spent 220,243, of which 65,000 went out in grants to power building organizations.
