Political and ethnic conflict has had a negative impact on the social and economic development in the region. AW is working to provide the basic need of water as efficiently as possible to the people of Burundi. 2021 was an exciting year. AW completed 87 new projects over 1,500,000 now have access to water within 20 minutes of their house from systems developed by AW. Amazi Water is committed to long term operations and maintains a functioning maintenance program that provides training, parts, and support for new and previously constructed wells. At the end of 2021, AW was supporting 537 water systems.
