CISE's contribution makes the Catholic school education affordable. All families can take advantage of this. Students are 76% non-Catholic, 82% minority population, and 93% impoverished. 595998 599998 High School Tuition Aid ProgramTuition aid is provided to 8th grade graduates of the CISE elementary schools who do not receive an EdChoice voucher to enable them to continue their education at a Catholic high school. 1 High School Student Support CISE provides funding to the high schools for a CISE advocate to help the students achieve success in high school. CISE also provides activity scholarships to the top 8th grade graduates who do not receive CISE high school tuition aid. All this is done so the students graduate from high school and are ready for post-secondary education. 1 "Summer Engagement ProgramCISE students needed summer programs to prevent ""summer slide"". CISE provides an advocate at each elementary school to research and make available programs for students during the summer. Educational opportunities such as summer school and extra-curricular classes are available as are field trips, outdoor experiences, and arts programs.School Nursing & Mental Health Programs CISE is helping to provide a full-time nurse in every CISE elementary school.This service ensures minor health concerns don't become major impediments to learning which has proven transformative for students and families. CISE has also partnered with Beech Acres ""Beyond the Classroom"" which connects families to mental health support, as well as financial and community resources, through a Famly Engagement Coordinator. Math Program Standardized test scores revealed an opportunity to improve Math achievement. Acknowledging that math becomes more challenging in high school CISE enlisted some support. Teachers have welcomed the addition of Math Coaches from the Hamilton County Educational Services Center. Daily, these coaches consult with CISE teachers, co-teach and examine assessments. They ensure all teachers present math content with confidence and that students are mastering the concepts necessary for high school success. Power Packs Program Hunger is detrimental to learning. When CISE learned many of its students were coming to school on Monday hungry, they partnered with the Freestore Foodbank to provide Power Packs to food-insecure students. A Power Pack contains sufficient food for one child for the weekend. Each Friday during the school year, students, by teacher recommendation, receive a Power Pack. The Finance Committee makes its determinations based on meetings with schools to understand their budgets and ascertain needs. In addition through the provision of scholarships and other financial support to CISE school graduates through the CISE High School Program, CISE will make grants and other distributions to Catholic high schools located within the Archdiocese. CISE keeps records of grants, grant applications, loan paperwork and specific details of other distributions in the form of meeting minutes. CISE requires an application for high school financial aid, but does not require an formal application for the ten elementary schools that it funds on an annual basis. CISE does have annual meetings with each elementary school where the FInance Committee/CISE Executive Director and school leadership review the schools' current budget projections for the next year, discuss financial needs, and accountability for use of the funds.
